T Tuesday

Well it's been a fortnight since my only child up and left home. Of course I've missed her horribly. Luckily, she left a trail of unfinished packing, full cupboards, bric-a-brac (to be tactful) and a basket filled with laundry. How odd. I can only presume that she was very confident that she would be seeing us again fairly soon! Her job means that her days off don't match ours, so we motored gently down to Worthing yesterday, to catch her at the end of her working day. Spent the afternoon strolling the prom in the sunshine. The Rotary Club had a multi charity fundraiser going on, so there were lots of stalls to poke about and look at. There was a funfair. And the beautiful sea, which was azure and sparkly, on such a lovely sunny afternoon. I didn't photograph the sea. I was utterly distracted by people watching and the thought of a cuppa.
Look at that. Vintage crockery for a cream tea in the sunshine at the Vintage Cinema Tea Rooms. What's not to love. Another stroll to the little flat that Miss Dunnit and her current squeeze are settling into and a touching reunion. We went out for supper like regular double daters and had a fun evening. The best bit is there is no sadness in leaving - she's happy, and that makes everything OK. I'm happy too - discovering this tea shop has made Worthing and the seaside even more attractive!

What wonderful news. So nice that Miss Dunnit is settling into her new lifestyle, and my big question is, did you do her laundry and take it to her or ?????

Double dating! Sounds like fun, even if it is with your child. Happiness comes in all shapes, sizes, and meals. That tea shop looks like it has it ALL. Good food, good tea, nice accouterments.

Please join us for T this milestone week: http://alteredbooklover.blogspot.com/2015/07/t-stands-for-party-time.html

Of course there was dirty laundry left for you Julia... your daughter just didn't want you to be at a loose end leaving you. What else could you be wanting/ needing to do? But it all sound delightful and I see in your tea leaves that they'll be having many more afternoon teas in the future. Gorgeous china and just look at that beautiful sun. I'd forgotten what it looked like.
Good luck for your daughter's new abode. It does make it so much easier leaving them when they're happy 😁

Lolled at the beginning of this post Julia! When my Mikey moved out, I agree it was only the lack of his actual presence gave the game away. His room was still full of his stuff- I love the 'bric a brac' term, by the way. That would have been way too polite to describe Mikeys, lol. Hugs, Shaz xxx

Going through very much the same thing with our daughter, although currently she is living home for the summer after her lease was up. She will be looking for a new apt. with a friend soon.

Love the vintage tea set!

It's always a bit easier when a child leaves for happy reasons and growth. It doesn't sound like she's far away so I hope you will get frequent visits in-to see her, and to visit that tea room-yum! Happy T day!

Your tea looks so inviting. Now you have a new tea spot to go to when you visit your daughter. I'm sure you were happy to see her happy, it is hard when our kids grow up and go out on their own. I laughed at the laundry left behind though.
